Today was the first really clear day. We have had a smokey haze from the fires in Arizona hanging in the air. Hopefully, it won't come back this way. We headed out to Animas Forks and tried to take Mineral Trail toward Ouray, but had to make a tight turn-around when we ran into too much snow. We did make it to the top of Cinnamon Pass, elevation 12,640 feet. It is one of the few trails open and it open all the way to Lake City. We turned around at the top because it was too late in the day to continue on to Lake City. Maggie was in the RV. Jimmy drove to the top; Kathy drove back.
