June 12: SOUTH MINERAL: Day of Waterfalls

We had lunch in town and someone was talking about the moose they had just seen on the road to the South Mineral Campground (just north of town).  Naturally, we swung by the RV, picked up Maggie and headed that way.  It was a nice ride, but no moose!  The snow has really started to melt on the mountains and there were waterfalls just about every where we looked!  And who knew dandelions could look so beautiful?  (Reminder:  you can double click on pictures to enlarge them; use back arrows to return to blog.)

But, it's short lived before she stops for a breath:

Maggie & I tried to get up close & personal with the falls, but it's a lot further than it looks.  Next time I'll remember to get my hiking boots!

When we returned to our RV, we found Janet and Patrick from Okahoma City all moved in next door to us!
