We woke up early this morning and had the repair done to the RV by noon. We then headed north on 505 to Silverton and arrived about 4:30 p.m. Today's pictures are taken thru the windshield (sorry about the bug juice) while moving, but it's hard to mess up when the scenery is so wonderful. As our good friend Charles always says, "anyone who doesn't believe in God has never been to Colorado." I have to agree.
As usual, the altitude is a little tough the first day. We hoped hanging out in Albuquerque for a week would help, but we are still huffing & puffing. So, we are just hanging out here in the RV, chilling and enjoying the scenery. The waterfall in front of the RV is still frozen. We were told it was 12 degrees here one morning last week. It's quite pleasant right now; but definitely jacket weather.
Leaving Albuquerque, things still look arid:
Then, just a few miles across the Colordo border, everything seens to turn green and the snow-capped mountains pop up on the horizon:
Coming into Durango:
Just north of Durango, there were 3 deer to greet us:
Molas Lake (just a few miles from our destination) is still frozen:
That's the little town of Silverton on the right; home for awhile:
